A personal reflection on returning to live performance after the pandemic and discovering that the relationship between performer and audience may have changed. In this interview with Latvian Radio journalist Liene Jakovļeva, recorded on August 26, 2023, I reflect on my research into live-streamed classical music, my experiences as a performing musician during the pandemic, and how performing without a physically present audience changed my understanding of stage anxiety and the performer–audience relationship.
